I'm going to do a short (20min) set with audio from Live and M8. I was thinking of doing the visuals beforehand as a logical record sequence and then playing it back while concentrating on the audio... has anyone used this process before and how did it work out? I want to use a bunch of sound-in parameters and the logical record seems to react to real-time inputs just fine. And I want to use real-time MIDI controllers into M8 as well.

I've used that technique and it works fine, the only downfall is that you can't synchronise the logical record with the music. If it goes off synch there isn't much you can do.
