Is there any way to modify the scale as in the autoscale, but the width and length independently?

If I understand your question correctly you can do this using the BPM (master) and the BPM router (layer) by using the 'pick' option and selecting the 'x' and 'y' scale sliders within the 'transform' panel of the layer controls.
