Why does M8 scale my Pictures (they are very large) down, when i import them in an Animation Folder ?

What are the specifications for the Animation Folder ?

If importetd as single Pictures they have the original Size.

It scales down to fit the output window, but it doesn't scale down the resolution. as soon as it's fullscreen it gets its pixels back, don't worry. Also you can scale it up with the scale slider if needed.

Animation folder scales down the pictures because the memory available on the graphics card is limited. Usually a digital camera will take a photo at 12Mpix, but you will not need to display it at this resolution.

With 10 photos (12MPix = 48MB), you will fill up a 512MB video card... this is why we scale them down.

So, by default they are scaled to 640x480 keep their original ratio. However, you could change this in the
Preferences | Misc | Movie folder maximum size

But beware, that you will get performance dropdown when the graphics card memory gets filled.

Regards.
