A am looking for a sequencer / timer module which i can set to play pattern 1 then play pattern 2 for defined durations.

there is a timer (vs) Media Sequencer (layer) which will do this for layers. But i have multiple layers on GROUP A playing in sync and need to then switch to either GROUP B or Pattern 2 when the movie has finished playing. Then it has to switch back again or play Pattern 5 etc.

I can do this using a midi sequencer which goes 'ding' and then 'dong' every 2"30' .... but it seems a very ding dong way of doing it!

I think the ding-dong is the way to go. I use Numerology if I run it to Bidule for sound as well. Otherwise Pattern Sequencer http://www.insignificance.de/

the problem is Numerology won't autoplay after the machine crashes

rather than switching 'patterns' i meant 'workspaces'
