    Unpredictable M8 Crashes

    by oogoo » Sat Mar 19, 2011 3:59 pm

It took me years of being a faithful M8 user to finally to accept that M8 always crashes. I havent had a single performance in last few years where m8 hasnt crashed at least once. Support is very limited and I am now painfully considering shifting to VDMX or even the very limited grand VJ. Anyone else finding 8 equally unstable? I have 12 GB ram on my imac and 3GB on the MBP and both behave the same, I'm always scared m8 is going to crash in the middle of a show and I spend huge amounts of time and money working out emergency recovery plans, using secondary DVD's and vision mixers, slide projectors and othe gimmicks that I can quickly kick in when ever m8 decides to pack up and have a rest. Anyone else?

. the only crashes i've had was through bad programming of a module (my fault) or some FF plugins that weren't extensively tested on mac os x.

. what does your crash log say? do you send them to support at garagecube ?

I have had crashes in the past. But they are very rare.

As I answer the majority of the tickets on the support system pretty much on a daily basis.

I will happily accept your crash reports and system logs so I can consult David to find a solution for your problem.
