    by valerio » Wed Dec 06, 2006 3:28 pm

Hi I'm wondering if it's possible to control a mov with the mouse (position, speed) ?

    any info is welcome.

    Thank you.

I'm quite sure you can do this with python and apply this with one of the knobs in the "play" options. But I can't help you more with that...

Hi Valerio - the 'Scratch controller' will do that simply I reckon. Low tech solution.
In the 'play' area top left of the gui just under the 'loop' switch if memory serves.
Brain hurts from very noisy band practice followed by beer so sorry if this is no help. :-)()(

that's true but in this case, you must keep your finger down on the mouse... it's hard to drink beers and go to toilets while you hold your mouse :x

Sigma is quite right, continuous mouse control is required for my solution.
But then if you want to control something with a mouse that is sort of a given no?
Try out the scratch controller anyway with all the speed knocked off your clip. It is more effective with some clips than others.

You can try routing the bpm to the 'scratch controller' and/or the layer 'speed' settings which is fun and frees a hand for beer.
This would allow you to have a movies position and speed controlled automatically to the beat.
Open the 'BPM (global)' module and then route it using either 'master' or 'layer' BPM Router modules or my favourite
    the 'L-BPM ROUTERV2 Ergo Mouse' -
you can pick almost any controllers from the gui are to be controlled by the master BPM and set their in/out points using these modules.
Great fun and very effective. :)

Excellent - nice link sigma, thanks, I didn't know that.

In that case the M8 'scratch controller' with a mouse will work no problem -
all valerio needs is gaffa tape and something to stick on the mouse button to hold it down continuously
then place mouse on deck - sorted. 8)

A Korg Entrancer in the schematic somewhere would be interesting, taking the audio and video from his set-up
he could control a whole show with couple of finger tips!!

Even remove the sensor from the mouse and locate it .... on a finger tip,
or on the edge of the deck...?
    Hmmm Interesting.
