88-key keyboard module for a gallery installation?

    Hey guys,

I am putting up an interactive gallery installation soon and I am looking at using Modul8 for some video work. Here's what I need to do:

-I will be hooking up a full 88-key keyboard MIDI controller to my computer.
-Each key will trigger a different audio (from Ableton Live, easy as pie) or video clip. There will be multiple layers of video composited using Luma-Key.
-Some of the clips will be "backgrounds", and the key should act as a TOGGLE - IE when you press it it toggles the clip on and off. This could be loaded onto layer 10 so that everything else is on top of it.
-The rest will be made to be layered over the backgrounds, and will consist of foreground subjects. These should not be toggles - when you release the key, the image should stop.
-Once this is set up, the keyboard will be accessible to gallery goers. Therefore, it must be IDIOT-PROOF. No separate button to press to switch layers, no laptop in front of them to see what they are doing, etc. They will only see the image projected in front of them (on 3 projectors, via a TripleHead2Go.)

Basically, I need a plugin that does what Media Keyboard ALMOST does - when you press a key, it should trigger a clip AND load it into an empty layer. (Or a randomly chosen layer. Or something similar.) And it should have a function to choose whether the key toggles the clip on/off, or simply plays while held down.

What do you think? Is there already a module with this functionality? Or do I need to write it myself? If I need to write it myself, what kind of language does Modul8 use? How might I go about doing so?

    Thanks!

have alook at the extensive online modules as well as the built in bundle. there is a script editor built into m8 and you can easily look at the code of other modules and cobble together something you need.

if I had more time I'd like to build the module myself - would be very useful.
too much is better than not enough.
