Hi
I'm new to Modul8.
I've seen the tutorials on the website and on youtube but still cannot figure out how to get MIDI trigger messages (I'm getting from a live band) to trigger specific clips...
Any suggestions?

What MIDI messages you are getting? Is it ”note on/off” or ”control change” or something else. Try with MIDI Monitor if you do not know.
In essence you can map MIDI notes onto every clip in Media Bin and play these on one active layer when trigger is received.
Or you can use module Set Media In Layer to have control over clips and layers. I have used this module for very tricky MIDI triggering.
