Does Modul8 support the FreeFrame plug-ins?

    by garageRoot » Thu Jul 29, 2004 7:26 pm

    Modul8 2.5 and above support FreeFrame 1.0.

With Modul8 2.6 Freeframes plugins are now searched in the following directories:

    "directory of Modul8"/Plug-Ins
    /Library/Application Support/FreeFrame
    ~/Library/Graphics/FreeFrame Plug-Ins
    /Library/Graphics/FreeFrame Plug-Ins

You can learn more about FreeFrame plug-ins and their availability at http://freeframe.sourceforge.net/.

Here are some other threads addressing that:

Sorry this FAQ is a bit outdated... :-(

Yes modul8 supports FreeFrame now, since the version 2.5.0

Having just released the MadMapper and v2.6.2 we are now focusing on the next upgrade for 2.7. However for the moment we do not have a timeline for when this release will be available.

. from the page - "FreeFrame provides a framework for developing video effects plugins and hosts on Windows, Linux and Mac OSX. Sample code is provided which compiles in Delphi, MSVC, GCC, Project Builder and Kylix."

. check out vjfx.com - somewhere on the modul8 forums, i did a full review of which free frame fx work w/modul8 and have discussed w/the Thomas (the creator) concerns, etc. with the ones that acted odd.

. he recently updated the pack (v2.6 i believe) where he added video -> ASCII which i've been wanting for a long time!

. it would be cool if modul8 supported free frame plugins for the A/B crossfade part... ;)

Can someone describe the process of how to add freeframe plugins with the extension .bundle to Modul8 v2.6? I have previously installed freeframe plugins successfully, but recently downloaded some new ones with the .bundle extension. When I place them into the Plug-Ins folder with Modul8 they do not show up in the filter module. Am I missing something?

Freeframe plugins should have the .frf extension in order to be loaded by Modul8 2.6.x
