Hey,
I also use the APCmini to control MadMapper. Unfortunately the module to handle the feedback for cue banks has not made it to the release yet. (Is that correct? @Mad-Matt?)
I use the module "Midi Out" as a work around. It works well, but it is some effort on the users side.
For each button of the APC Mini I create a MidiOut module with following properties:
- Target Device = APC MINI 1
- EVENT Type = Note On/Off
- Channel = 1
- Note Number = 1 to 63 [The button that should light up, start numbering lower left]
- Velocity = 1-6 [The color that should light up, see below ]
- Send on Value Change = On
Color definition (=velocity value) as far as i found out:
- 1: green
- 2: green blinking
- 3: red
- 4: red blinking
- 5: yellow
- 6: yellow blinking
- All other values: green
Then I put these modules into the Cue's where the button should light up.
Example usage:
Lets say i have two cues: c1 and c2. Each will play a different clip on the same surface. This means its either cue1 activated or cue2 activated.
To indicate this "either or" behaviour on the APCmini's Buttons b1 and b2 I do the following:
- Midi map b1 to c1
- Add the MidiOut-Module of b1=red (means playing) to c1
- Add the MidiOut-Module of b2=green (means not playing) to c1
- Midi map b2 to c2
- Add the MidiOut-Module of b1=green (means not playing) to c2
- Add the MidiOut-Module of b2=red (means not playing) to c2
Now if I press b1 the cue c1 will get activated. b1 will light up red, while b2 will light up green.
If i press b2 the cue c2 will get activated. b2 will light up red and b1 will switch from red to green.
I mapped all my keys on the APCmini with this approach. It is quite limited but it works well for my shows. I hope this helps.
If it works for you too, let me know in this thread!
Cheers
