    Import .SVG in MM 4.0.8

    by twann29 » Wed Mar 31, 2021 2:59 pm

    Hello,
    I cannot use the svg files in madmapper.
    When I import an .svg file, nothing is visible, I have a surface line created but I do not see the lines of the svg file.
    I have tried different svg from different sources, nothing can be done.
    I even created one with a text document pasting this:

    <svg version="1.1" x="0px" y="0px" width="64px" height="64px">
    <line id="fixture3" fill="none" stroke="#000000" stroke-miterlimit="10" x1="0" y1="0" x2="64" y2="64"/>
    <line id="fixture2" fill="none" stroke="#000000" stroke-miterlimit="10" x1="64" y1="0" x2="0" y2="64"/>
    <line id="fixture1" fill="none" stroke="#000000" stroke-miterlimit="10" x1="0" y1="32" x2="64" y2="32"/>
    </svg>

    Nothing in mm4 but it's good in others softwares

    Any ideas ?

    You can import SVG to create a video lines surface with menu File / Import SVG Lines...
    Or to automatically create DMX Fixtures with menu File / Import Fixtures...
    But you cannot import SVG as a media with File / Import Media.
    I test your file for both video lines and DMX fixtures without problem.
    Does it solve you issue ?

    Hello,

    It's work when i use this test file for create DMX Fixtures with menu File / Import Fixtures.

    But it's the other one that interests me, the SVG lines import. In this case, nothing appears in the output preview : i can't handle anything (see the screen capture when the SVG file is downloaded with menu File / Import SVG Lines)

    I tried with another laptop, with the demo version of MM.
    the SVG lines import works perfectly.
    I can't find why it doesn't work on my machine.
    Can I send you a log file to possibly have a fix?

    Can you tell us what exactly happens ? I tested your files on macOS without problem.
    Maybe that's just because "Thickness" setting of your lines is almost zero (on creation of a line, this setting is set to the last value you set but there was an issue with the default value o startup that we recently fixed)

    When i try to import a SVG lines, normally under perspertive / reset, the lines of the SVG lines must happears but i my case nothing as you can see in the screenshot i've sent before in this topic.

    Of course, i try to change the "thickness" but i must have some lines to aplly this "thickness"

    to make me understand:

    here is what it gives with another laptop

    Image

    as you can see, I have all the lines (up to selection-9) and on the right the logo "TRISKELL"

    doing exactly the same thing with the same SVG on my machine here is what I have:

    Image

    I don't have up to 9 selections and the "TRISKELL" logo does not appear at all on the right

    :shock: :shock: :shock: :?

    It looks like MadMapper couldn't parse the SVG file on this other computer. Could there be a permission issue for reading the file from MM ? Could you start MM as administrator to evacuate this ?
    You can also send a log file:
    - Start MM, Ctrl+Click on Tools Menu and select "Enable Log...", then restart MM
    - Reproduce the issue
    - Send me the log file located in C:\Users\your_login\AppData\Roaming\Garagecube\MadMapper\Logs\ (use support ticket for that)

    No permission issue for reading the file from MM and i've tried to start MM as administrator, the same.

    I'm going to use a support tickt and send you a log file.

    Thanks a lot

    I no longer have any problems.

    I moved my SVG files back to C: \ Users \ your_login \ documents \ on the same drive as my windows and now it works fine.

    A big thank you to Madmatt and the madmapper team.
