    Simulate keystroke with AppleScript

    by od1_fr » Wed Oct 05, 2022 3:05 pm

    Hello!
I setted-up the "F" keystroke in MM Control List / keyboard to play a specific cue.
When I tried to simulate the keystroke using AppleScript, it is ignored by MM.
I tried different key codes, but it didn't react. I made sure MM is on focus when I simulate the keystroke. I even tried another key combination to see if some other keystroke would be recognized and the "fn"+"F" does put MM in fullscreen mode. I conclude MM emulates some kind of intermediate between the keyboard and its event-listeners, with some exceptions for the app keyboard shortcut management.
Is my assumption correct, and more importantly: is there a way to interact properly between AppleScript and MadMapper using keystrokes?
    Thanks a lot!

I have no idea why MadMapper doesn't receive those keystrokes. But I know people who are sending OSC with AppleScript, which seems better (no problem with focus etc.), check: https://groups.google.com/g/qlab/c/qMMgHrPZroI
