Remove media from surface / clear surface

I might be blind!, but I can't find out how to clear a surface. Once a media is running but you don't want to see it any longer. There is "apply", but no "clear" or "remove"?!
What am I missing?

As far as I can tell there is always a media applied to a surface, when you create them they generally default to the last selected media or the testcard.
If you want to blank out the surface then there are many options.
Create a media which is literally just a black solid colour and use that.
Save a cue to change the surface opacity down to 0%
