Multi Channel audio input to Madmapper from Ableton

    Hello,

I am currently working on an audio reactive project. I am trying to route four channels of ore-fader stems from Ableton into mad mapper. I am also live mixing the audio from these stems, the mix goes to the PA system. (No audio from madmapper goes to PA)

I am using a Mac Studio on Sequoia 15.3.2. 6.0.9

I have tried using black hole as an audio loopback device and creating aggregate devices and multi output devices with my Apollo 8 audio interface as suggested by ChatGPT, but this has not worked, Ableton is sending audio, MM does not recieve. I tried it with a Sapphire interface as well.

What has worked is creating a multi output device using blackhole and the mac studio speaker. if I route ableton to the speaker, I can hear the master out and MM sees the audio. But this does not work if I use the headphone out instead.

Can I please have step by step instructions on how to get this routing working?

BTW - I have lots of spare hardware ins and outs on this interface so I have also tried routing duplicate outs of the stems to hardware analog outs in ableton and patching these with cables to analog ins and this works, madmapper sees the signal. Is this the most reliable way to do it?

Blackhole should be all good. If you send anything MadMapper will receive it. In MadMapper Preferences / Audio Input you have to choose BlackHole and then you can see the audio information in the status area below
