I hope this finds you well

I have sucessfully set up a 6CH of faders set up as overrides DMX adress 10 thru 15 on obsidian onyx

DMX
10 FADER 1 layer Base opacity
11 FADER 2 Layer 1 content
12 FADER 3 Layer mid opacity
13 FADER 4 Layer 2 contnet
14 FADER 5 Layer top opacity
15 FADER 6 Layer 3 content

FADER 1 / 3 / 5 sucessffully fade the layer in and out

FADER 2 can change content /media select ( allows selectioon of media source range 0-255 Target range 91-120 where the images are)

I cant seem to assign media select on diferent DMX channels it seems you can only have one this is very frustrating

in a busking envoronment i want to be able to fade up a layer and scrub through media contnet

It might be nice to have a 3rd fader per layer for the blend mode +

any recomendations on a work flow that will allow this would be great othger wise it means setting up a lot of cues in both madmapper then in onyx as well

ultimatlely im tring to bring visoin & lighting & lasers from madmapper or Pangolin beyon into one work space

Hi
I cant seem to assign media select on diferent DMX channels it seems you can only have one this is very frustrating
You can add controls to set the visual type (generator, movie, image, camera...) & number (in this type) using
/surfaces/Quad-1/visual/type
&
/surfaces/Quad-1/visual/number

in a busking environment i want to be able to fade up a layer and scrub through media contnet
You mean you want to fade down and scrub so you can see the new visual in the output preview even if opacity is 0% ?
You can do it using a loopback. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Xh0CtOqPJU
Since you use 3 layers you can create one loopback per layer. So for the 3 layers, you have one Quad for rendering your visual in the loopback and another quad to show the loopback on the output. You assign the opacity control to the quad that shows the layer on the output.
It might be nice to have a 3rd fader per layer for the blend mode +
No problem doing it

Excellent this looks to be the solution, i will get the desk out and have a play, i think i might have been going down selected / visual / id .... and getting an error messsage

It make sence if your slecting a distinct surface(projector) to be able to assign an individual DMX channell to the different quads... 1 / quad 2 / quad 3 etc /etc

Ill post back with sucess or specific error... as stated above i did have it working on one layer just couldnt get desired selection on 2nd and 3rd layer
