    Tunnel Mapping

    by CONTACT » Sat Mar 02, 2013 11:28 pm

Hey, was wondering if anyone had any experience with mapping a tunnel?

Tunnel will be made of fabric. Using 3 short throw projectors on the outside of the tunnel, 1 on the left and right sides and 1 shooting from above. Triplehead2go system.

Tested on a cylinder in modul8 using bezier curves and was successful in mapping, but As I will not be projecting from inside the tunnel, will I still be able to get the intended tunnel effect of light traveling from the front of the tunnel to the back?

    Hope that makes sense.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if this is exactly answering your questions, it wasn't completely clean what you are trying to find out here...
But, if I was doing a tunnel mapping I would still act as if the image was a flat image and just send a masked version of sections of the image to each projector. Just understanding the more of an image "height" you send to each projector, the harder it will be to blend. I beleive people are using a software called Blendy(http://www.blendy.in/) to help with this.
I did some 3D Pre-viz you can see below how I would attempt this. Good luck and can't wait to see your results.
