how to make key mappings work even when madmapper isn't open?

Hello, I have one controller I wanted to use for both Resolume and madmapper but I've now learned that isn't possible in windows (without 3rd party software). So for now I just mapped what I needed using a keyboard mapping but I guess these are only seen by madmapper when it is in the foreground; is there any way to change this?

No, MadMapper will only receive keyboard event if it's the focus application. On macOS a MIDI controller can be shared among multiple applications. On Windows you will have to use a midi routing application like Bomes. You can create virtual midi outputs in Bomes, and you can forward incoming midi data to multiple virtual outputs. So your controller would send midi data to Bomes, and Bomes will forward this to two virtual outputs.

Did anything change on this since 2018?
Would there technically be any way to force or automatically restore keyboard focus on madmapper?
I have an application where multiple interactive madmapper installations are controlled using PoKeys57U.
Everything is running on windows 10 enterprise and is well setup for this application.
However I am a little bit afraid that something could steal the keyboard focus from madmapper.
Until now this just happened
- after remote access when not clicking on the window (already fullscreen) before closing the connection
- after the application crashed and was automatically restarted
Normally I would prefer OSC.
So if anybody knows an affordable plug and play OSC-GPIO interface with many proper digital inputs (current loop, decoupled) for long wires ...
