complex architectural model 3d surface calibration problem

    by sky111 » Sat Nov 16, 2019 6:16 pm

    Hi

I cnc-milled a topographical architectural scale model and would like to map an aerial image (orthophoto) on it. I could import the 3d mesh from obj and it looks good so far. I watched x-times the calibration tutorial video, but somehow i don't get it done how it is presented in the video. If i switch to fullscreen mode after activation of the reference btn i don't c the model or only partly and if i'm not in fullscreen i can reference some markers but with no impact onthe model relocation (and anyway without fullscrren the referencing doesn't seem to make sense?). The surface has some hundred nodes, could there be a problem?

Any help is welcome, i'm really out of ideas.

Second question: is it possible to drape the aerial image orthogonal on the 3d surface or do i need to create uv maps?

Thanks a lot for your help

    Bernie

swithc to fullscreen BEFORE calibration, make sure you're projector has the right resolution settings.
for an ortho photo you'll need to have UV coordinates in your object.
