    Issues with NDI and MadMapper?

    by CaseyJScalf » Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:10 pm

I love the idea of NDI but in practice it is sometimes error prone when using with MadMapper.

I have documented to most common issue in this video and I am curious if there are anyways to avoid this?

    https://youtu.be/wyVv9CEt8DI

Essentially it looks like there is some problem with the background of the video feed. I can play a movie fine but when it comes to adjusting the mapping it freaks out and glitches. This is very similar to my error when using SDI and MadMapper. See here: https://youtu.be/TSPmBJb1Kbc

Some claim this is a bad video cable, bad connector, but I have isolated the problem and it only happens in MadMapper regardless of the projector, screen, etc.

Why is this and how do we fix it? I really loathe having to use Resolume for projects but will have to until this issue is fixed...

    Thank you!

Here is another video that shows it is not the hardware or projector that is creating the issue of the background not clearing.

As you can see the edges of the test pattern are not cleared away.

I am open to the being a feature, or perhaps just a setting, which is why I am curious how to fix it.

    Hi,
This is not a known issue. Can you check in MadMapper Preferences / Engine, if MadMapper is using Direct3D or OpenGL output ?Are your graphics drivers up to date ?
Could you also test with MadMapper 4 (demo version is ok for this test)
    We'll figure it out !
    Cheers
