    Firmata Arduino COM port reconnect

    by timbrass » Mon Aug 16, 2021 6:14 pm

I have MM4.1 and have an Arduino Uno with an analog Potentiometer on pin A0 that can control MM content via COM3. The console says "Port Opened Successfully". If I unplug the USB cable to the Arduino and then reconnect it, MM no longer responds to pin A0. The only way I can see to get to run is to set the Firmata port to None and then back to COM3. It then works as expected.

Is there any way for MM to automatically try and reconnect to the last used COM port without manual intervention?

if you save the project whle the arduino connected and set to the right port,
shut down the computer then restart and reload the project (with the arduino still connected),
    everything will work ok.

If you disconnect manually the arduino while running in MM, you'll have to set the port to none before re-setting it to the good value.
