custom RGBW expression from MM3.7.8 not functioning in MM5.

Dear all!

I've recently upgraded from MM3.7.8 tot MM5.
Unfortunately, I noticed while preparing for an upcoming show that my custom RGBW expressions made in MM3.7.8 suddenly don't behave as intended anymore.

I have built 50 custom RGBW strobes which I need to control via MM.
In order to have the 'white' channel from my lamps behave as intended (when my live video shows 'white' I just want the W channel to show instead of R+G+B), I made the following expressions in MM 3.7.8:
Channel 1: R-W
Channel 2: G-W
Channel 3: B-W
Channel 4: W

This always used to work properly for me, till I upgraded to MM5. Now with the same custom fixture profile with these expression, I can't seem to map the colours from my video to the strobes.

I'm quite sure my expression is wrong. But I really don't understand why this worked fine before and now suddenly not anymore.
Could anyone please suggest me a method that would work for me?

Thanks in advance!!!

I don't see any issue with those expressions in version 5. Check attached screenshot.
A common issue is when user unpatch the pixel in the right part of the fixture editor. In version 5.2 we'll make it clear when pixel is unpatched. Actually you have to be sure you the a "1" in the right part.

Thank you for your fast reply!

I actually have the pixel patched correctly.

This is a screenshot from MM3.7.8:

You can see in the DMX monitor that channel 1 & channel 2 = 243.

Now here is the exact same situation in MM5 (the videoinput is exactly the same):

And suddenly channel 1 = 0 and channel 2 = 245.

I think this is why my setup does not work properly anymore.
Why did this change?

Thanks in advance,

We could solve this issue. The actual workaround (waiting for MM 5.1.7 release) is to add braces around your expressions, ie replace "R-W" with "(R-W)"
Thanks for reporting !
