    Amplitude control

    by jobbajob » Wed Aug 09, 2023 12:40 pm

    Hello,

I am trying to set up visuals for an exhibition. I'm working with ableton and I'm trying to control garage cube led lights using audio which is playing in ableton (eg. amplitude, bass etc.). Now, I am trying to route the audio signal through my audio card (Steinberger UE22 mk2) so that Madmapper picks up the signal directly. Madmapper recognises the device in the device in the settings but whenever I want to for example, control the animation speed with the amplitude of the audio which is playing, Madmapper only shows me "audio input:madmaper". So my question is, how to I get mad mapper to recognise the audio signals which are coming through my audio card.

    Thank you!

    Windows or macOS ?
If Windows, which driver type did you choose ? ASIO or Direct Show ?
It seems that MadMapper doesn't see any audio device with audio inputs. When you select an audio device, there's a status text below that shows available number of input & output channels. What do you see there ? A screenshot of preferences / audio might help

    Hi,
Audio Input "MadMapper" in controls means it's using the device you've chosen as audio input in preferences. The device selection shouldn't appear in Controls List, we'll check that.
So it should work without problem if you have some audio coming in on channels 1&2 of your device.
    Cheers

    Hi buddy
To get MadMapper to recognize audio signals from your Steinberg UR22 mk2 audio card, ensure that you have selected the audio interface as the input device in both Ableton Live and MadMapper's preferences. Then, configure the audio analysis parameters in MadMapper to control your visuals, such as animation speed, based on the audio input signals.
