Dante/Asio audio output stops and does not continue

    Hey there,

we have a permanent installation with madmapper 5.4 running on a windows 10 enterprise machine.
Audio is sent to two Dante AVIO 0x2.
Sometimes audio output stops randomly and does not start again.

I was on site recently when it happened.
So I first reconnected the Dante AVIOs --> no audio
Then stopped and started the dante virtual soundcard --> no audio
    Restarting madmapper brough audio back.

Network wiring in this location had certain problems with hummidity and bad connectors.
So it might happen that sometimes latency rises.

    :?:
However as I understand Madmapper should only "see" the dante virtual soundcard and send Audio via Asio to it,
regardles of any dante devices connected to the soundcard?

I retested the setup and individually turned off all components in the pipeline:

    ... unplugged network cable
    ... disabled network interface
    ... stopped dante virtual soundcard
    ... unplugged poe supply
... used NetLimiter to reduce the bandwith until audio dropouts occured

madmapper was able to continue audio problem without problems after restoring the connection.

So I am really wondering if this is a madmapper or a dante problem.
    :?:
Is there any known case that could stop madmapper sending audio to Asio / DVS?

    Many greetings!

No. I know a bunch of people running permanent installations with audio output & MadMapper and I never had this report. So I would look on Dante side. You can increase the audio buffer size in MadMapper Preferences / Audio (it will increase audio latency but should make it more stable)
If the problem happens again, we can have a look at the log file (you can find it from menu Tools / Show Log Files, it should tell if we have received an error message from ASIO.
