Why is there a small orange dot in the upper right hand corner of the MadMapper output?

Going over some test patterns yesterday with some new projectors and I found a weird issue I was not able to resolve.

Apparently there is a small orange dot in the upper right hand corner of the output.

However, it is only there when MadMapper is fullscreen and is there regardless of the opacity of the surface or if the whole comp is blacked out.

Though, when I quit MadMapper the dot is gone and is also not present if I disconnect the source from the projector.

Has anyone ever experienced this before?

I am on MacBook Pro mid-2015 with Mac OS 12.7 running MM 5.4.1 projecting through a brand new Panasonic PT-TMZ400U.

Any ideas on where this might be from? Never seen anything like it. See pictures.

I of course checked the settings and did a little searching but nothing yet.

Thanks!

I was trying a different brand projector and same issue. However, no issue on a Win 10 machine so I figured it was the Mac OS.

Alright, after more searching I found a fix and apparently I just needed better search terms.

The solution is to disable to microphone in MadMapper and also in the Mac OS System Settings.

Although I do not use the audio input feature from the laptop microphone much this may be an issue as for the new Mac OS update it appears this Security and Privacy feature is baked in and can not be turned off.

See images for settings config that show what needs to be clicked to get this orange dot in the upper right hand corner to turn off.
