MM won't run as a standard user

    by risehigher » Wed Jun 12, 2024 12:41 am

    Hi everyone,

I work usually with mac, but now I need to work with Windows 10. I ran into a problem where I must start MM as a admin, in order to make it work.
If I start it as a standard user, none of the materials or generators will load.

An example for an error is "Included file not found in file Line Patterns.fs: #include "MadNoise.glsl" "

Can anyone tell me please how I can change permissions in Windows or an other way to fix this? Or do you all run your MM instances as admin?

    Thank you,
    Michael

I saw a bunch of reports like this that we solved by disabling OneDrive. It seems one driver can make "offline" (in the cloud) files that MadMapper need that are located in folder %AppData%\Garagecube\MadMapper\MadamScripting_[VERSION]
    For 5.5.6 that's in %AppData%\GarageCube\MadMapper\MadamScripting-24040421052
Those files are then 0 bytes and MadMapper can't load shader code needed.
Can you have a look at file size of:
    %AppData%\GarageCube\MadMapper\MadamScripting-24040421052\MM_FX.glsl
You should ensure that OneDrive doesn't put those file offline. Please let us know
