I tried downloading the demo, it failed to launch. Tried multiple versions of the full program: 6.0.0 Beta, 5.6.6, 5.5.6, 5.4.4 every time it looks like it's launching, stalls, when I check about force quitting, it says (not responding) for a minute or two, then the program "quit unexpectedly"

I deleted and reinstalled, restarted my computer and tried launching in safe mode, but every time, the result is the same: stalling then quitting automatically

Does the computer have an internet connection?

Other possible things could be connected devices causing a problem - try disconnecting anything plugged - USB devices, input, output down to as simple as possible.

While testing some other things also running macOS 15.3 (now 15.3.1) - it looks like MadMapper 5.5.x and 5.4.x at least won't startup any more, I'm seeing the same bouncing you are describing, app not responding, left one of them to keep trying to startup for over 30 minutes, no change.

In my case, 5.6.5 and 5.6.6 both do startup still and prompt for licensing (these are full versions, not Demo) - so not exactly what you are running into.

There was an issue with Canon SDK blocking on newer macOS versions. It was solved in MadMapper 5.6.6, after second launch. Are you sure MM 5.6.6 doesn't start after blocking once ?
If so, please send a mail to support@madmapper.com with your log file.

Log files on windows are located in:
  "C:\Users\your_login\AppData\Roaming\Garagecube\MadMapper\Logs\"
You can type this in file explorer address bar:

Log files on macOS are located in:
/Users/YOUR_LOGIN/Library/Logs/GarageCube/MadMapper/
To access this hidden folder easiely you can: open Finder, choose menu Go / Go to Folder… and paste
~/Library/Logs/GarageCube/MadMapper/

Geometry Dash Lite Are there any plugins, extensions, or external hardware (e.g. MIDI controllers or projectors) connected when launching?
