weird mad doubler unity problem

Hello,
I have a weird mad doubler problem. I'm running modul8 and a unity app to mad doubler, and mad doubler to madmapper. On my macbook pro everything works perfectly, but I need it to run on a mac mini. On the mini Mad doubler shows the unity app as a syphon source, but no video can be seen. If I select the unity app as syphon input in mad mapper, I can see the video. What is the difference in syphon 'handling' between mad doubler and mad mapper? Anyone any ideas? I just can't understand why the unity source can't be displayed in mad doubler, but only in mad mapper.
