I have 160 triangles with LEDs. Previously, I was using Ableton Live to orchestrate the content on those LEDs, two channels would be used to send note on/off events to the LED controller (two channels are needed because there's only 127 notes per channel, but I need 160) to turn the triangles (~300 LEDs per triangle) on or off, and another channel was used to control parameters of the content shown on the LEDs.
With Madmapper 6 I was hoping to do this entirely using the timelines, and it works really well for controlling parameters of the content / materials, but sending notes to turn the triangles on and off is cumbersome because you need one timeline lane per note value, so that would be 160 lanes. It would be super useful to have something like the piano roll in Ableton live, or at least the ability to drag and drop a MIDI clip onto the timeline, just like audio or video.
If this were the case, I could switch completely to Madmapper. In the meantime I'll probably have to keep using Madmapper and Ableton Live. And because I still need Ableton Live, I might as well do the entire timeline in there and stick with Madmapper 5.
