    copy/paste parameter

    by mipmarple » Tue Feb 15, 2022 7:33 pm

In some applications it would be nice to be able to copy parameters of one
surface to one or multiple others.

At the moment it is only available for "Output Geometry".

If there are plans for such a feature there probably would have to be a selection dialogue for each parameter upon pasting (DavinciResolv or PremierePro are good examples).

+1. This feature is there for controls (audio, osc, midi) but it would be great if this could apply to surfaces & surface FX as well.

I ran into some situations recently that would have benefited from this feature:

    1. Duplicating FX or general surface settings across 20 surfaces, when deleting the surfaces & duplicating a "template" was not an option (due to preexisting links with cues)

    2. Shifting settings in or out in a multi-stage syphon/spout pipeline within Madmapper. Let's say you have 3 internal "stages" for that process content in order: A -> B -> C. If you've built a composition with just B & C, and realize that a Mirror effect would be really nice between B & C, you'd need to copy over the FX settings from B to A to make room.

For FX with many parameters, or really any surface with a lot of tweaks, the ability to copy/paste settings would be a big time-saver.
