    Midi Map NOT Working!

    by tonyvought » Fri Aug 01, 2008 2:00 am

I just upgraded my Modul8 to 2.5.6 and Midi Map no longer works. I cannot setup my UC-33e. I have the UC-33e connected to my Mac Pro via USB cord. Any suggestions? Please advise, this has completely shut me down.

Also, I don't believe that the UC-33e is broken because I have another controller connected as well and I cannot map it either.

    Hello tonyvought,

If you open the application Applications | Utilities | Audio MIDI Setup

Does your UC-33e (USB Midi device) appears in it ?

I opened the Audio MIDI Setup as you suggested and when I clicked on MIDI Devices the following error occurred... please advise. Thank you

    UNABLE TO LAUNCH MIDI SERVER

Audio MIDI Setup was unable to launch the MIDI Server. This means that you will be unable to view or edit your MIDI configurations.

Improperly written MIDI drivers can prevent the MIDI Server from launching successfully. If you have recently installed a new MIDI driver, try uninstalling it and then relaunching Audio MIDI Setup. If Audio MIDI Setup works correctly after that, then please contact the driver's manufacturer for further support.

Forget it. I solved the problem. I recently installed Pro Tools on my machine and that installed a different MIDI driver. I uninstalled Pro Tools and that fixed it. That brings up a new question however, can Modul8 and Pro Tools exist on the same computer? If so, how do I go about making this marriage work?
