no miniMAD?

simple question:
Can we use the minimal firmware without the miniMAD enclose?
the enclosure look like basic buttons to pins integration.
I flash a SDcard with firmware download for my space.
export my work to the SD card and boot the minimal.
stock at the main page : press red button.
the external keyboard does not have the red button I believe.
