hello all, and first of all sorry for all the questions. I'm learning things piecemeal and it's coming together slowly. but i'm really having a hard time with the midi mapping in modul8. To the point that after hours and hours of trying to get it to repond the way i feel very desperate for help.

if anyone can help it would be great, i've been reading up on forums and the manual and can't figure it out so far.

what i'm trying to do is this :

assign 8 faders to 8 layers.
assign a data bank to each layer, one media set per layer.
trigger the selected media from each layer's bank in each layer via a midi pitch.
I'm using 8 different midi chanels.

ideally the midi pitches would trigger the midi for display in its layer.
if the midi pitch changes so does the media.
but for some reason which i'm failing to figure out, the midi pitches triggers the clip but this overides the opacity setting on the fader, and it's not respecting the layer / bank configuration. I can't get media to alternate in each layer while respecting the fader's opacity setting ( i'm using an edirol UR 80 midi controler after having some problems with the behringer BFC2000's automation)
i've been trying to understand this but the manual isn't very helpful.

i just want media to be assigned to one fader, one layer, and to switch when the pitch is played.
is it related to pitch lenght, ie does the pitch have to be maintained for the image to display ?
how do i make sure the media is displayed in the right layer ?
    i'm quite confused
what would be really good would be some kind of walkthrough to midi mapping in modul8, explaining the different functions a little more clearly than the manual, if such a tutorial exists...
but any advice on specifics would be greatly appreciated

I figured it out since. I'm still having a little difficulty with deleting mappings at times, but by taking one thing at a time a saving new files in "documet" mode things are getting better.
