Layer color invert

Hi,
if you ad the "sub" blending mode to a layer to fill it into a mask or shape
the result is that the layer gets inverted.
Is there a way to invert the layer back ?
If you use the contrast inverse it works but it doesn´t look that nice.
One way i found is to "invert output color" but this is a master control.
The other way is to use "invert filter" .
