    AVB-ILDA setup

by BN visuals » Fri Apr 28, 2023 1:29 pm

Hi, Looking at a setup for six lasers using Sollingers AVB-ILDA and some lasers (non Sollinger).

Anyone with experience using this exact setup?

Please elaborate. I’m basically looking for the best way to run six lasers from MadMapper.

Tested my programming locally earlier today. On Mac I get a disappointing but ok 20fps gui(before connecting anything) ILDA FPS is supposedly stable 60. On my PC its way more laggy, so any FB4-trough Beyond is probably not a good idea.

So what alternatives exist? Moncha?, Etherdream? (Out of stock), Shownet?

    etherdream, shownet.
AVB is 7 lasers max, AFAIK
Haven't tried 6x Helios, there might be bandwidth issues.

I did an installation for a week at a fair with 8 lasers (Kvant's Burstberry) with FB4 and I can say with total certainty that it is very smooth, solid and safe. All mapping with MM + Madlaser in real time for 8 hours a day., . In any case, Pangolin is necessary to be able to transmit the zones. I can NOT comment on Solinger, how little I know, that it is much more expensive and that it gives a headache!
