MadLaser: Timeline fade works on scrub but not on playback

I'm using MadMapper 6 with MadLaser and running into an issue with fade in/fade out on the timeline.
I've set up fade in and fade out keyframes for a laser surface on the timeline. When I scrub the playhead manually by dragging the cursor, the fade works correctly — the laser fades out as expected.
However, when I press the Play button to play back the timeline normally, the fade doesn't apply at all. The laser stays on without fading.
To summarize:
- Manual scrubbing: fade works ✓
- Pressing Play: fade does not apply ✗
This seems like it could be a bug. Is there a setting I'm missing, or is this a known issue?
