More ideas and wants - Lots to do with the timeline

    MADMAPPER FEEDBACK

Hey team, I just finished on a tour where I used Madmapper alongside Resolume to run a lot of timecoded songs (the whole show basically). The comb worked really well and this allowed me to dial things in a lot. Over the 2 weeks I was taking notes of issues and ideas I was having that would improve Madmapper for this sort of use.

    TIMELINE — BUGS & USABILITY
[Bug] Ctrl+scroll zoom does not work in the timeline well — horizontal zoom should be a standard interaction. Issue I had on a project

[Feature] Add copy/paste support for timecode values throughout the timeline panel.I need to easily update offset vales and the current parameter box to enter offsets is fiddly and slow

[Feature] All timeline parameters (e.g. Duration) should accept timecode-format input, not just represented as seconds. Maybe this a mode that can be choosen (like show timeline as timecode fps) similar to how you can change the playback setting of a Adobe Premiere (or Ae) timeline from Timecode etc

[UX] Improve the timeline dropdown list: allow reordering, show more entries, and provide a dedicated panel/window for managing timelines. I was using Madmapper on a timecoded tour. Every song had its own timeline. Total of 14 songs. I was jumping around between timelines and I wanted to rename some of them, reorder them. The dropdown menu was a little slow, would be great to have a dedicated panel for managing them

[Feature] Add the ability to trigger and switch between different timelines automatically during a timecoded show — via OSC, MIDI, Timecode or an internal sequencing mechanism — so timeline swaps can happen hands-free mid-run.

Need some way to have both a "Master Timeline" as well as little pre-comp timelines so that songs or scenes can be built but then easily programmed over a larger show.

    AUDIO — FEATURES & WORKFLOW
[Feature] Add an option to disable auto-looping for media clips. When working with timecode audio I need clips to play exactly once so I can confirm the full file is represented.I dont always want it to start looping the file when i drag the media handle out.

[Feature] Add stereo pan control for audio files in the timeline. LTC timecode embedded in 1 audio channel; I need to pan to other side so I don't have to create a whole new audio file with LTC stripped out just for programming.

[Feature] Audio files should live in the main media palette alongside video and image assets — not only inside a module or the timeline. Currently Audio can exist in 2 different locations inside madmapper (in a Timeline or in a Audio module) This is a little confusing. I think of audio as just another asset like an image or a video file. It would be great to have it in 1 location and then "applied" to things like the timeline.

[UX] Right-click on an audio file in the timeline should include Reveal in Finder / Show in Explorer so that I can confirm which file is being used (in case there have been updates to latest file and i cant remember if I have updated it in Madmapper, need to be able to confirm).

    CUE & SHOW CONTROL
[Feature] Allow cue markers to be imported as timeline cues/markers (e.g. from cuepoints, cuedini or reaper etc).

+1 [Feature] "Audio files should live in the main media palette ..."

In the current state it is really confusing which material is actually played back.
It is not good that there are now also wav files stored inside the project folder.
If there are some final content changes on site it is better to have all media in a folder and just reload them from the "media instances" tab to make sure just these are used.

Also it is not possible to control the volume of an audio tracks externally.
There is just the "Clip Gain" control which canot be controlled.

+1 [Feature] "Add the ability to trigger and switch between different timelines ..."

With the current version 6.1.2 it is only possible to trigger other timelines via the macro-module from a timeline.
This approach is difficult to understand.
